Turco vs Vokoun

Hi guys,

Tell me, who of these two great goaltenders do you think has more talent. Of course, add your comment too.

Cheers

Well, I'll keep my biases aside and say one thing. Turco is by far the superior stickhandler. He's just as stupid as Vokoun when it comes to puckhandling, but he has a huge talent advantage in that area.

I think they are both great goaltenders.

Totally agree with Smokey, in that, Turco is a far superior stickhandler though. Of course, he is as foolish with the puck as he is good with it.

Vokoun is good, but Turco was AMAZING last year. He would have won the Vezina if it was not for his injury. I would have pick Turco anytime instead of Vokoun. And remember that Turco had some pretty good numbers as a back-up, although this is to be expected...

But I'm confused by his bad start. He is allowing softies, and he is not nearly the goaler he was last year. I think he will bounce back, but we've seen one-year wonder before in net.

I will stick with Marty, but I must give some credit to Vokoun and it is not an easy call...

Vokoun is doing pretty well on a worse team than Turco -- all things being equal I think Vokoun would be the better netminder.

Turco's a better puckhandler, but Vokoun is the better all-round goaltender in my opinion. Turco did a lot of good things last year, but so did Vokoun, only he wasn't noticed because of how his team did in the standings.

I think we'll see the real JS Giguere this season and it wont feature him in the top 3.

He has put up solid numbers for 3 seasons. I think we have already seen the real Giguere.....

Were his pads as grossly inflated as they were in the 2003 Playoffs for those three seasons, though? That could be part of the problem. It just seems that he and Turco are suffering from Theodore Syndrome; too much pressure and too much $$$.

His pads haven't changed at all. It's a convient thing to say though.

No, they were completely legal. They never were over the limit, and still aren't.

Well the avatar says it all for me... This last week end home and home showed that both goalies can look great and then suck the next night... While getting the win Sunday, Marty gave up a late, late, late goal when he looked like he was thinking about taking a shot a kinda of whiffed, leaving the puck in front of an empty net... Voucon, while looking good Saturday, was lost as a ***** in church, on Sunday... They poured goals out from everywhere... Granted 4 were PP and he had to kill a double minor, Marty had to kill a full 2 min. 5 on 3 early in the first.. I think tomas is going to be a very good goalie, which is why I have him in 1 of my leagues, but Marty is starting to reach the elite status of goalies...
