Having a debate between Pens and Preds fans, who would you rather have?

I'm a big Brooks Orpik fan, and I like Hamhuis (BC Boy afterall) too, but Orpik to me has a more dynamic and game-changing ability in so much that Orpik can throw down absolutely amazing hits, whereas Hamhuis doesn't do that so often. I also feel Orpik will actually improve his offensive game, he actually isn't bad offensivly, he just has seemingly had a run of bad luck and can't seem to find the back of the net at any level at the moment.

Hamhuis is better right now though.

Don't know the proper pronunciation for Hamhuis, so I choose Orpik.

LOL, I've heard it pronounced so many different ways from Hamhoose (rhymes with moose) to hamhouse to hamis (sounds like pumice).

orpik is the bigger hitter(though hamhuis's hipcheck would rival) but hamhuis is by far the better all around d-man. better skater, better puck mover, better vision, better poke check. i think hamhuis has #1-2 potential, where orpik will be more of a 3-4 kind of guy. shrug. i do think suter is going to be better than hamhuis, though

Hamhuis, I think he'll be among the elite d-men in the future.

I'm a big fan of both of these guys, but Dan Hamhuis would be the easy choice for me.

I think Hamhuis has the ability to be a top 5 NHL defenseman at some time in the NHL before his career winds down.

I think Orpik has the potential to be better. I've seen Hamhuis only once, though.

Orpik is a very powerful skater and is right now able to skate the puck out of danger. He's not a serious offensive threat, but he's pretty good at making an outlet pass.

Hamhuis is better right now, but I think Orpik has the potential to be a number two guy on this team, a guy who can play against the biggest and best around the league. He's already shown it in flashes this season, and I hope he will continue to develop as well as he is now.

i haven't been too impressed by Hamhuis and feel he's very overrated. i'll take the bruiser in Orpik.

Give me Hamhuis please!

Orpik I really like. Any time I've seen highlights of him, he's always strong on his feet, and delivers punishing hits.

However, Hamhuis does the same, is an excellent skater, has a heavy shot, and makes the first pass amazingly well for only being JUST 21!

His Hipcheck is a thing of beauty...

Orpik has excellent size to him, but I still really like the way Hamhuis plays. His size really has never hindered him, and I think he'll learn to play better positionally, especially down-low, so he doesn't get out muscled by bigger opponents.

I picked Hamhuis. How is it pronounced? I always thought it was Ham-Hwee.

It's a Dutch name, not French.

It is pronounced Ham-hews (ews = yoos).
